Ivan Filippov: “In St. Petersburg the preparations for implementation of the “May” Presidential Decree №204 completed. Now in its phase of achievement of stated goals”

Ivan Filippov, the Chairman of the Committee, noted that the “May” Presidential Decree №204 is aimed at improving the standard of living for citizens, developing urban environment, economy and social sphere

All the provisions of the Decree are directly linked to the Strategy of the socio-economic development of St. Petersburg for 2035. The implementation of the Decree will be achieved by the plan of measures for the implementation of the Strategy.

12 National projects of the Decree are the areas for strategic development such as Demography, Healthcare, Education, Housing and Urban Environment, Ecology, high-quality roads, Labour productivity, Science, Digital Economy, Culture, Small and medium-sized business, International cooperation and Export. Moreover, 43 regional programmes have been approved to implement national projects.

The implementation of national projects would increase life expectancy and birth rate, would increase the number of secured accommodation families. Furthermore, The implementation of the Decree would provide for covering the annual improvement of 500 adjacent housing territories; increasing to 2,4 times amount of used and treated sold communal waste; rising the number of specially protected natural territories; increasing to 1,2 mln people the amount of people in the sphere of small and medium-sized business to 2024; rising export volume till 2,5 mlrd to 2024; building 18 Cancer Centres, including 8 Cancer Centres to 2019.

Ivan Filippov noted that all preparations for implementation of the “May” Presidential Decree №204 completed: “Now in its phase of achievement of stated goals. For the successful implementation we should have the active cooperation with federal centre and business. The implementation of the “May” Presidential Decree №204 is an indicator of success and quality of living in St. Petersburg for us”.
