The Unified St. Petersburg citizen card celebrates 1 year

A year ago, on May 6, 2019, the The Unified St. Petersburg Citizen Card project started by the Government of St. Petersburg making available many digital services for citizens.

Improving the quality of life through the integration of digital technologies in social processes, the introduction of high-tech tools of the digital economy in the everyday life of citizens became the key idea of the project and the trust has already been demonstrated by 560 thousand residents of St. Petersburg.

The first holders of the The Unified St. Petersburg Citizen Card were the honorary citizens of St. Petersburg.

The main services of a smart card are payment and transport applications. The Unified St. Petersburg Citizen Card can also be used for identification in medical institutions of the city and for various discounts.

To solve the problem of authentication and storage of a qualified electronic signature available, the software was developed for the electronic key carrier of a high security class. The Unified St. Petersburg Citizen Card is used as an ID with complete information security and personal data insurance.

Nowadays the project has various 230 partners, providing bonuses and discounts to the card holders. In total 2800 partner points accepting the card for a discount card.

The card transport application is on high demand, as it makes possible to record any type of travel ticket or an idividual pass.

Over the past six months, banking application usage in subway grown in 29 times. The special tariff of 36 rubles is valid until the end of 2020 when using the Unified St. Petersburg Citizen Card.

During the year the project existed, working meetings were held to exchange experience with representatives of many regions of Russia.

In the nearest future, new services will be launched in the mobile application and on the web. The City Dialog service is making polls and prompt citizens feedback available. The Privilege service will enable the holder to receive information immediately on both existing and required social support measures.

The plan is to expand the map with other applications and features considering the needs of the citizens of St. Petersburg.
